I am waaaaaay too proud of myself for my tank DIYs. The yellow one is actually from two years ago, but it hasn’t frayed yet! I think this shows that my sewing skills are above reproach. 
The process was bascially:
Buy cheap, too-large cotton tank (yellow is Joe Fresh, orange is from Giant Tiger in Napanee!)
Sew sides to make fit properly. On the yellow one I also gathered the back a bit.
Cut the lace trim off a square doily and sew onto the front along the outline (I was worried that it would fray, but using a zigzag stitch seemed to have stopped that!). 
Ta-da! I have pretty much been living in the orange one. And it was a $7 tank to begin with! Crafts are my favourite.
